Kansas City Squirrel Removal

Although I wrote everything I know about squirrel issues for this website, oftentimes a problem with squirrels in the attic is beyond the scope of the do-it-yourself homeowner to solve. We have a professional squirrel expert in Kansas City, Missouri that handles problems with wildlife. Kansas City Squirrel Situation: Hi! We are having problems with Squirrels living in our attic above my Son's bedroom. There's an outlet with steps that you can pulled down which leads up to crawl space in the attic from my Son's bedroom however the attic space is very tight and cramp and a person would have to practically crawl in and u can't stand up and walk around it. Another way is to get a very high ladder and gain access to where the squirrels are getting in. I saw the squirrel climb onto our Evergreen tree and made its way up the roof and into the space its been getting into. It chewed up the metal grate and that's how it got in. We know that it's a Mommy squirrel and know that she had little ones around April or May (I think) and by now are fully grown. I believe the problem occurred around March or April. How much would it cost to rectify the problem? Its been almost 6 months and they won't go away!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Mrs. Knight

Thank you for your very detailed info about squirrels in the attic. I live in Kansas City MO and have recently discovered this very thing. We have called exterminators out and they determined that I did indeed have a squirrel. They pointed out possible entry points and told me to close them up when the squirrel is not inside. Well I am having a time knowing if and when it is out. I can definitely hear it during the afternoon and evening. I believe it is making a nest and according to your calculation might be getting ready to have babies. I am an environmental educator and want to be humane to the squirrel. Please help us!

I enjoyed your information on squirrels, and have learned a lot. I do NOT see where or how I might purchase a mesh box to screen in my vent from a bathroom that projects about 2 inches beyond the wall of the house....They have pushed out all the louvers out of the old one to get in and have chewed their way into the new hard plastic cage that I bought at Lowes(because I could not find a metal one) and now I have trapped 5 in 4 days and delivered them to various new homes.....when I have exhausted my supply I want to KEEP them out ! Any thoughts on what and where to buy that wire cage would be appreciated . I don't really have a lot of money right now to call an exterminator.and would like to try this myself..(My father says it is illegal to trap squirrels in Ct......is that true?) Thank you for your time and support...Linda Page
