St. Paul Squirrel Situation: Hi, I live in St. Paul, MN. I have some serious squirrel issues. They have made there way to my living area. As soon as the lights are out they destroy my house. Everything I own is in boxes because they kept knocking everything to the floor. Last night they figured out how to open my cupboard and knocked stuff out. I am a prisoner in my own home and have my cupboard ducked taped closed. I went on line and found your email address. Saturday I discovered a vent on the eve of my house had been pulled open on one corner, so I nailed it back. Sunday there was a 4" diameter hole right next to the vent. I went to Home Depot and bought some spray repellent and a vent cover and covered the hole. Monday (today) there is a rectangular hole adjacent to the new vent cover. I apparently did not get rid of anything. Can you help? Please help asap. Darleen
We have had three squirrels in our house doing a good amount of damage to wooden window frames. We got them out through open windows. We had someone out to look at our home, but he wasn't able to tell us how they were getting in. The squirrels have already caused about two thousand dollars of damage, not reimbursable from insur
David, I enjoyed your article and poem. I am trying to entice a squirrel to leave my attic. I have used bugle noise when I hear the squirrel enter, a CFL light on for 24 hours/day and an old ultrasonic transducer to try to frighten it away. I closed the gap in the fascia board 20 feet off the ground that I assumed was the initial access point. Then the next day I discovered a newly gnawed 2" hole in the underside of the soffit board near where the fascia board was closed. And the squirrel was back! So now I am considering installing a one-way access door over the hole to entice the squirrel to leave before any babies are born in February. Do you have a one-way door or other solution to recommend? ance. We do not think there are any in the house at this time, but need to make sure and make sure no more get in. We need better help. Are you the right person?
