Allentown Squirrel Situation: I live in the northern part of the Lehigh Valley, in Allentown. After Sandy, this October, a part of the siding on the car port (connected to the garage, which connects to the house)_ came off when a neighbors tree brushed it. Soon I could here large scurrying over my head in my plaster ceilings at night. I had my husband go up and he chased out the squirrel in the day and took out what he claimed was a nest in the garage (empty nest it is January here and this was a gray squirrel).. I had tried making noise and scaring it out when I heard it during the day, But it always came back. How ever, even showing him squirrels can jump up to 6-10 feet, he doesn't believe me. Further to get up to the attic he put a 3 X 4 foot square hole in the garage ceiling and left it open in the middle of the garage (looking awful). He claimed nothing can get in there, although I think it's more laziness then anything else. Is there a place I can call to have someone come and look up in my attic and check and remove anything that may be up there? I'm not able to...and I don't want to wait until something worse happens to my home. I already hear the sound of the squirrel back now and it's been only 20 minutes since he claims to have 'removed the nest and closed off the hole with "aluminum siding"??.
