You might want to consider a professional for the removal of squirrels in Charlottesville, Virginia

Charlottesville Squirrel Removal

Although I wrote everything I know about squirrel issues for this website, oftentimes a problem with squirrels in the attic is beyond the scope of the do-it-yourself homeowner to solve. I have found a professional company in Charlottesville, Virginia that handles problems with wildlife. Virginia Professional Wildlife Removal Services has access to tools, techniques, and experience that help them do a far better job at wildlife removal than a non-experienced homeowner could. They possess licensing that allows them to do certain types of work legally, that non-licensed homeowners in the state of Virginia are not allowed to do. For the welfare of your situation, and the squirrels, in some cases it's best to hire a pro.

There are good companies and bad companies out there. I've done research on such companies, to get to know them, and feel confident recommending their services. I therefore recommend a company called Virginia Professional Wildlife Removal Services which services Charlottesville, Virginia. Dear David, Our squirrel problem is this: We live in a mobil home park and cannot use any kind of fire arms to kill squirrels. They are getting under our house and taking our insulation. We are finding it all over the yard. They are also chewing up our american flag, our hammock, destroying our mulch beds, flower gardens. We have used decon, antifreeze. We cannot afford to hire anyone to trap them. What do you suggest? We are open to ANY kind of solutions. Would alka selzer wrapped up in peanut butter work? Hope to hear from you soon. Oh by the way, our squirels are the little red ones and ground squirrels.

My response: Please don't attempt to poison the squirrels! The best way to keep away squirrels is to trap them in live cage traps and relocate them. Otherwise, as far as them getting under the house, it's easy to just install an exclusion barrier around the perimeter of the mobile home - just buy quarter inch steel mesh from Home Depot or another supply store, and screw it in around your house, into the ground, and then no squirrels will be able to get under. Permanent solutions like that are better than trying to constantly battle the never-ending stream of squirrels in your area.

Hey David, I had a question about a squirrel nest we recently discovered in our attic after the flooding here in South Carolina. We first noticed scratching in the wall near our (fake) chimney right about two and a half weeks ago and thought it was rats getting in the basement. But tonight I went up in the attic to get winter clothes and found that the vent cover for our bathroom had fallen off (or been removed) and squirrels had dug into the insulation between the walls and that fake chimney. I have counted three adult sized squirrels coming in and out of a hole in the chimney. Because of where it is in between the wall and this chimney, there's no good way to tell if there are any baby squirrels in the nest. Would three adult squirrels be sharing the same nest with babies? I feel pretty confident in my ability to build one of the one-way door traps and fit it to the hole where they are getting in at, but I don't want to lock them out and leave any young in there to die. Thanks for your help!
