Columbia Squirrel Situation: hi there, i think we have squirrels (or something else) in our house. it's a double wide, triple decker in jamaica plain of Columbia SC. our bedroom is off the back porch (which is definitely rotting in some places and also next to a big tree). our unit is on the 2nd floor. last night around 4am we heard scratching and chewing in the ceiling that made its way across the room and stopped when we pounded with a broom. we would very much like advice with how to proceed. I haven't had a chance to look around the perimeter for areas where they might get in. By the way, by coincidence, Mr Squirrel found his way into my kitchen this morning. You would have laughed your head off if you could see me (age 60) and my cousin trying to "shu" him out with two brooms. Mama Mia, were we pathetic! But, the job is done. Hello my name is stuart and i have just been running a animal rehab centre in south africa for 5 years, not only raising animals and rehabbing them but catching problem animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, honey badgers, porcupines, snakes(everything from black mambas to 5m pythons), jackels, man eating crocodiles, birds of prey, hyenas, rats, rabbits, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, I am not only looking for work but a chance get new experience working with and catching problem animals. I am most interested in learning a more basic problem animal, like a squirrel. I am very keen to learn and listen to others about there methods of catching animals.
