Dayton Squirrel Situation: I believe I have a squirrel living under the foundation of my home which is cement, but I have never seen him. I've tried Sulfur bombs and stopped up the hole, but each time he digs a new hole out. I've done this 6 times to no avail. I then bought a small cage trap (double door), but I set it wrong and he ate the peanut butter and nuts that I put inside. I reset it, but he set it off by knocking it over and I've tried again, but he hasn't touched it again. I would like to know how much it would cost to catch this animal? If you care to inspect the hole that he has last dug, then please call to make sure I am home. THANK YOU.
Hi David. I believe I have a nest of squirrels in my attic. I think the mother just had her litter. I can hear little squeaks in my family room coming from the ceiling and I saw a large squirrel duck under the shingles of my roof yesterday afternoon. How can I humanely remove the babies and mother and relocate them outside? I saw the list of humane companies that remove squirrels. I am locate in the Dayton OH area. Are these companies expensive to use? I read your article and need help . I think I have tried just about everything short of poison. I have I red terracotta roof with lead flashing. Most all flashing has been removed and replaced with hardware cloth which has been covered with concrete The one with with the additive that prevents it from cracking and the hardware is secured with fender washers and long dry wall screws. roof has been inspected and the few tiles that were cracked have been replaced. what do I do next? Donn in Dayton Ohio . THANK YOU
My response: So are you saying that you believe you have sealed all the holes, but you still have squirrels? If so, are they stuck inside? If not, then there are still some openings, is that correct?
DAVID, I DON'T REALLY KNOW IF ALL HOLES ARE COVERED, IT IS A LARGE AREA WITH A 50 FT BREEZEWAY WHICH EXTENDS FROM HOUSE TO GARAGE AND THE HOUSE HAS SEVERAL ELEVATIONS REQUIRING HIPS AT MORE THAN ONE LEVEL . IT'S A SINGLE LEVEL BUT LOOKS LIKE A TWO STORY . I HAVE BEEN USING A OLDER PAIR OF 7 X 50 POWERED FIELD GLASSES BUT I THINK I WILL PICK UP A NEW PAIR IN THE MORNING. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED . OH! I JUST PUT A SECURITY SYSTEM IN WHICH REQUIRED THREE LARGE HIGH PITCH SPEAKERS OR BULL HORNS IN ATTIC, DO YOU THINK IF I ACTIVATED THEM TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK THEY WOULD HELP ? THANK YOU , DON
