Detroit Squirrel Removal

Although I wrote everything I know about squirrel issues for this website, oftentimes a problem with squirrels in the attic is beyond the scope of the do-it-yourself homeowner to solve. We have a professional squirrel expert in Detroit, Michigan that handles problems with wildlife. We have the tools, techniques, and experience that help us do a far better job at wildlife removal than a non-experienced homeowner could. We possess licensing that allows us to do certain types of work legally, that non-licensed homeowners in the state of Michigan are not allowed to do. For the welfare of your situation, and the squirrels, in some cases it's best to hire a pro.

Detroit Squirrel Situation: David, We have at least one squirrel in the attic who may be a mom. We found a hole near the gutter and fixed it with a piece of 1X wood. In the pre-dawn hour, lots of scratching and noise came from that same area of the house. I made some noise by banging on the wall and the squirrel apparently got startled and soon stopped chewing/scratching. A few hours later, we noticed that a new hole was chewed through the corner of a dormer in about the same area. Can you suggest or recommend a knowledgeable person who can handle the entire situation from relocating the squirrel(s) to permanently fixing the entrance points? Thanks, Dennis

Hi, hi. I should have called yesterday but got busy and didn't. Now that it's Sunday, I'll just shoot you this email to see if you can help me with a squirrel at your convenience this week. I have a tall tree between my home and the next and a mama squirrel (I suppose) climbs up the tree, bites off a green twig from the tree and then sails with it over to the top of my chimney, building her nest somewhere up there. I would probably have a heart attack if a squirrel fell into my fireplace and got loose in my home. I also don't want one dying in there and stinking. Are you available to come to my home, to take care of this nuisance for me?? I suppose I'll need Davey Tree Company to cut the tree back to keep this same event from happening twice each year. I look forward to hearing from you either here online or by phone.

Hi David, I bumped into your website whilst, in desperation, checking out anti squirrels products etc... I must say that the most knowledgeable and useful websites with products and pest control information are all in the USA! I can hardly find anything which is UK based. I guess you have been dealing with this problem for much longer, as the American bigger and more aggressive grey squirrel took over here relatively recently. The situation is so bad here, and especially in Cambridge (where I live) that most pest control operators are either totally unaware of the problem, or totally incompetent. The same is with the people! I personally did not realise what the problem was until it was too late, and they established themselves in my attic; at first I thought they were biggish birds, hyperactive birds, no-one had any clue, and after 2 useless pest control guys, I finally found another one who has helped, but not solved the problem. I have been keeping a diary with actions taken and observations since I started the fight! The authorities do actually recognize the problem, so much that there is a law which makes it illegal (i.e. you can be prosecuted) if a caught grey squirrel caught in a live trap is released in the wild/woods, as apparently these monsters have destroyed entire woodlands. i.e. if caught by live trap the pest must be killed and disposed of properly. I have taken various steps with some success, but the horrible pests are exceptionally persistent. I was looking to buy some predator urine, hence coming across your website. The only place I can get it here is via Amazon UK. I understand of course that it is a sort of chemical concoction, and I'll try and sprinkle in my garden, anyway it's cold and wet right now, so I do not sit in the garden. One squirrel was caught by a death trap last year in my attic, then the pest control guy shot it as it was not completely dead. Then, another pest control person put poison bait in the loft, she claimed that as so much was taken of it, one must have died somewhere outside, it may have been true, but one definitively died inside and I noted by the stench coming through the bathroom ceiling (at first I did not realise what it was, I thought it came from the drainpipes), so I called the pest control lady and she removed it. Then the roofers put metal chicken wire and cement on top where the big holes the pests chewed were between the fascia and the roof tiles. But in order to make it 100percent secure they should seal all of the fascia/roof perimeter, which will be expensive - so far over the last 2 years fight I have spent about 1,200! Some deluded people think that 'they are cute' - there cannot be nothing further from the truth because these nasty pests really are rats with a fluffy tail. Thank you for reading (my rant), that's if you ever do, as one never knows with the web, how recent stuff uploaded can be; and if you happen to know of any reliable source of information in the UK (the European country most affected), I would be very grateful if you could let me know. All the best, Sophie
