Port St. Lucie Squirrel Situation: Hi Dave, I hear scratching in my attic. I had someone come in last week and he saw nothing in the attic, didn't see any droppings so we closed up the hole in my roof. We set a tray outside by my wooden fence that we think it's been climbing on to get onto the roof but so far we've had no luck with the tray. I thought I was rid of the animal but I heard the scratching in my attic again last night. I'm having the guy come out again tomorrow but if he sees nothing again, what can I do? I know there is something up there . There is very little space ( height wise ) in my attic. I'm lucky the guy was able to crawl in there. I've been looking for any other holes on the roof and around the house and I can't see any so I'm wondering how it's getting in or if we closed it up in there. The guy said he thought it was a raccoon by looking at the hole and scratches on my fence. It sounds like only one animal but whatever it is, I want it out of my house! Do you have any suggestions? Hi, A friend wants to get the flying squirrels out of his attic without harming them. It is now early Dec in Port Saint Lucie FL so all babies from fall litters are independent. The questions I have are: In Florida, it is now quite warm so: 1. Are the squirrels leaving the attic at night as they did during summer, and 2. If f they are leaving every night, and they are excluded from the attic, will they die of exposure (should these friends wait til' spring to try to exclude them)? Also, do they ALL leave at night, or are traps required to ensure everyone is out and nobody gets trapped? Thank You
